Bonding

The bonding process
with Sasha Tian Tian
was well represented
and its methods
suddenly became quite clear
when I encountered this sign yesterday:

I know she needs to go at her own pace,
considering all the changes she has been through
in such a short time
and I am a patient Mama.

  1. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful family you have.

I just loved your blog. My husband and I have just started our paperwork to adopt our second daughter. We are doing the China Waiting Child Program. We adopted our daughter Tia in August of 2005. She too was from the Guangxi Province - it was an amazing trip. I just may take you up on asking questions as time progresses.

Again, so happy for your family and best of luck to you.

  2. Marla,

Just happened upon your blog and wanted to say-you are doing a great job. Your story brings back so many memories of bringing home our daughter from China- Chongqing, Dianjiang in 2006(now we have 3 from China!). She also was so afraid of our dog but only for a week or so. It will be so amazing to watch as she settles in and as that thoughtful, soulful look in her eyes changes into smiles and laughter.

    Blessings,
    Cheri

  4. Ah, we adopted Lilly last year at the age of five, and I can say I understand completely. I can also say that EACH day gets better than the one before, and before you know it a beautiful flower has emerged, and life is more grand than you could have ever dreamed. Baby steps. Patience.

  5. Hi Marla,

Welcome home! I loved following your blog and although I never left a comment, I read it every day. Marla, you're a great writer and really have a way with words. It made me feel so boring! It sounded like your family had a wonderful trip and made lots of memories. Sasha is a beautiful little girl and looks to be so well adjusted. Her brother and sister looked like they just adored her in all of the pictures! Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and so happy you're home! Love, Kim
