The Universal Language Of Friendship

Ava Rose has a way of rounding up kids wherever we go
and every little girl reminds us of Tian Tian right now
I keep hearing the same question:
"Mom she reminds me of Tian Tian, is she about the same size as Tian Tian?"
"what about her? is she Tian Tian's age?"

"look she has pony tails like Tian Tian!"

Jake and Ava see Tian Tian everywhere we go in China
because she's already with us
in our hearts
that's why I am so proud of my kids
they can open their minds
and open their hearts
to the idea
of a little girl
needing a family
they've agreed to share me
even though it might be hard some days
they know it is normal to feel jealous
they know Tian Tian needs a family
but she will not want a family
not at first
it will take a long time
we will practice being patient
and never give up on her
even on a really bad day
because the good days will be right around the corner
that's what a family does

  5. These are precious photos! What beautiful children! Your sentiment about being patient and it takes time are so true. You are right...that is what families do. I can tell you from experience, it isn't easy, but hearts will open, love will grow, grief will lessen, trust will come in time and there will be joys even through the challenges. Thinking of you and your family!

  6. So true... kids are just so pure and it is amazing how much love they have in their hearts. Isn't it amazing how kids can always hook up with friends because they are so innocent an have no preconceived notions? I can't wait to see your daughter meet her new sister! Hope your time continues to be wonderful!
